Raebareli News: During the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the issue of road to Manupur village of Amawa development block, which is caused by the boycott of voting on Rae Bareli parliamentary seat, has once again got hot. On the day of polling on 20 May 2024, on the assurance of Rahul Gandhi, the villagers voted by finishing the boycott, but even after about a year, the condition of the road remains the same.
Today, Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma took a dig at the Yogi Sarkar and Rae Bareli District Panchayat on this matter at a meeting with workers at the MP residence in Bhumau, Rae Bareli. He said that the construction of Manupur road has not been done because this road comes under the jurisdiction of the District Panchayat. Sharma revealed that in the meeting of ‘Disha’, this road was proposed to handover the PWD, but the process has not been completed yet, due to which the construction of the road is stuck.
MP Sharma also appealed to the media to help the PWD to hand over the work at the earliest by putting pressure on the district panchayat. He also questioned Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the claim of ‘Pit Free Road’, saying, “UP CM Yogi Adityanath says about the pit -free road while the reality is in front of everyone.”
Activists ‘managed’ and boycott voting
Significantly, during the Lok Sabha elections, BJP MP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh described the election boycott in Manupur village as the ‘tactics’ of Samajwadi Party and Congress. Dinesh Singh had claimed that the road that was boycotted was under construction, and some workers of Congress and SP ‘managed’ and boycotted votes. At that time, Dinesh Singh also targeted the Congress and Gandhi family and said that the first MPs of Rae Bareli were his grandfather, but Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi did not think it appropriate to take his name. He took the names of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, but did not name Feroz, the first MP from Rae Bareli. Dinesh Singh alleged that Rahul refuses to consider Feroz as his grandfather.
This raw road of Manupur has now become a new center of political accusations in Rae Bareli, where both Congress and BJP are targeting each other. The villagers are still waiting for their road to be built.
