New Delhi. There are reports of water logging in many areas after thunderstorms and heavy rains on Sunday morning in Delhi-NCR. Waterlogging has increased due to waterlogging near Motibagh, Minto Road, Airport Terminal 1 in Delhi. The roads are full of water, causing problems in getting vehicles out. A car was seen submerged due to heavy waterlogging on Minto Road in Delhi.

In the early hours of Sunday, heavy rains started in the entire NCR region including the capital Delhi and adjoining Noida, Greater Noida and Gurugram. This recorded a drop in temperature and people got relief from scorching heat after a long time. However, due to rain, the roads were flooded in many parts of the capital, causing heavy problems in movement.

Waterlogging in these areas of Delhi
Visuals of waterlogging have been revealed near Delhi’s Minto Road, Dwarka flyover, Chanakyapuri, Subroto Park area and Delhi Airport Terminal-1. A car was completely submerged in water near Minto Road. At the same time, heavy waterlogging has also been seen around the airport. In the posh areas like Chanakyapuri and Dwarka, the drainage system was exposed. In the ITO area of ​​Delhi, the roads were flooded due to rain.

The situation of traffic jam is being seen due to rain on Dhaula well in Delhi. Vehicles are moving forward here.

Flight operations affected
Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has affected more than 100 flights due to thunderstorms and rains. According to the information, more than 25 flights had to be diverted, while many flights are being delayed. According to the Airport Authority, there is still pressure due to last night flights. Delhi Airport has issued advisory in the morning. It said that some flights have been affected due to bad weather last night. Passengers are advised to regularly check their flight status and keep in touch with the airline employees for updates.

A tree has fallen on Vasant Kunj Arora Asaf Ali Marg in Delhi. Due to falling trees on the road, water logging occurred and one side’s road has been closed. Not a single street light is burning on the road.

Where is the power supply interrupted?
In many parts of Delhi, there are also reports of strong dust storm, storm and electricity supply in many areas after the rains. Electricity supply is reported to be disrupted in Bawana, Narela, Jahangirpuri, Civil Lines, Shakti Nagar, Model Town, Wazirabad, Dhirpur and Burari. According to Tata Power DDL, power supply in some areas had to be temporarily stopped in some areas to avoid electric shock to ensure people’s safety. Trees and twigs fell on electric lines, causing them damage.

Expensive cars drowned in water
There was waterlogging in the underpass near the airport area in Delhi, due to which vehicles like BMW and Mercedes were closed in water. The main underpass connecting Delhi to the airport has led to a lot of water logging due to night rain. Dozens of vehicles were damaged by drowning in water here. Many expensive vehicles could not come out, Malik has left them in the underpass water.

The effect of rain in Greater Noida West
Greater Noida West has been raining intermittently since Saturday night. Light showers continued on Sunday morning. There is a situation of waterlogging in some pockets, due to which the local residents are facing trouble. Many parts of Jhajjar and Karnal of Haryana also received heavy rains along with thunderstorms. Waterlogging was seen in different areas of Gurugram.

There is heavy water logging outside Hooda Sector 10, Vikas Nagar, Civil Hospital of Gurugram. Even after several hours of the rain stops, the situation is bad due to waterlogging.

Meteorological Department Warning
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in the coming 24 hours. Also, warnings have been issued in some parts of strong winds. According to experts, this rain may be a part of pre-monsoon activity.

Earlier on Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Delhi and surrounding areas, warning of strong thunderstorms, rain and strong winds in the next two to three hours.

This alert is part of the introduced warning depending on the current weather conditions. According to IMD, a stormy cell is coming from the west/north-west in Delhi and surrounding areas. Under this effect, there is a possibility of strong thunderstorms or dusty winds in some parts of the city in the next 1 to 2 hours. Also, there is a possibility of continuous lightning shine and strong winds (speed of 40-60 km/h or more).

The Meteorological Department has urged people to take necessary precautions. IMD has appealed people not to escape from open places and not take shelter under trees. Citizens are asked to stay away from weak walls or unstable structures.
