Samudra manthan: Samudra churning is a famous mythology of Hinduism, which is described in the Bhagavata Purana, Mahabharata and Vishnu Purana. In this story, the gods and asuras together churned the sea by using the Kachhap avatar of Lord Vishnu as a churning of the Mandarachal mountain as a churning. As a result of churning, fourteen gems appeared from the womb of the sea.
At the beginning of the churning, a fierce Kalkut poison came out, which Lord Shiva drank to protect the earth. Due to the effect of this poison, there was acute fever in his body. Jalabhishek done by the gods – in which milk, water, sugar candy etc. were used – their heat was calmed. Since then Rudrabhishek became popular as a major worship method.
Specialty of Shravan month and Rudrabhishek:
Shravan month is considered to be completely dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the year 2025, according to Vikram Samvat 2082, the month of Shravan will begin on 11 July 2025 on 9 August 2025.
While chanting Rudrabhishek or Mahamrityunjaya, the direction and place of ‘Shivwas’ (presence of Lord Shiva) should be specially considered. According to religious texts –
Gauri-Sang Shivwas-provides happiness and property.
Shivwas on Kailash – is calm and pleasant fruitful.
Taurus is Shivas – the desired fruitful.
Vice versa,
Shivas in the gathering, food site, sports place, or crematorium causes sorrow and sorrow.
Date of Shivwas in Shravan month of the year 2025 details:
🔹 in Krishna Paksha:
First, Ashtami, Amavasya-Gauri-Sange Shivwas (for happiness and property)
IV, Ekadashi – Kailash Shivwas
Panchami, Dwadashi – Taurus Bharadha Shivwas (intended fruit)
🔹 in Shukla Paksha:
Dwitiya, Navami-Gauri-Sang Shivwas
Panchami, Dwadashi – Kailash Shivwas
Shashthi, Trayodashi – Taurusbharuh Shivwas
Apart from these dates, other dates are considered relatively annoying, so make date selections carefully for rituals.
