Long queues of devotees started outside the temples since morning. Everyone was eager to see their adorable Lord Shiva and Har Har Mahadev .. According to religious beliefs, when Lord Rama sent Mother Sita to exile, then Laxman ji started worrying about her safety. He performed the harsh penance of Lord Shiva at the same site of Lucknow, which pleased Mahadev appeared and assured Lakshmana to protect Mother Sita.
It is said that the day Lord Shiva appeared to Lakshmana was Wednesday, hence special worship is done in Budheshwar temple on Wednesday.
