SDRF Team BECAME Angel Kanwariyas Haridwar Saved 15 Lives 3 Days

Haridwar. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) of Uttarakhand (SDRF) has saved the lives of 15 Kanwari in 3 days during the Kanwar Fair 2025. All these incidents have taken place at Prem Nagar Ghat and Kangra Ghat in Haridwar, where SDRF teams managed to evacuate the Kawandis trapped in the strong flow of the Ganges. Many such videos have come out in which it is seen that the kanwadi drowning in the river has been safely taken out due to the promptness of SDRF soldiers.

In one such incident, 16 -year -old Adarsh at Premnagar Ghat in Haridwar, who hails from Uttar Pradesh and came to take Kavad with his father Pramod, started flowing in the strong currents of the Ganges. The SDRF team stationed there started the rescue operation without losing time and took Adarsh out safely. SI Ashish Tyagi, ASI Deepak Mehta, Head Constable Kapil Kumar, Constable Sagar Kumar, Constable Naveen Bisht, Constable Subhash and Home Guard Ankit played a key role in this operation.

SDRF saved 2 more kanwadis from drowning at Kangra Ghat in Haridwar. SDRF soldiers saved 32 -year -old Kavandi Rinku from drowning from Karnal, Haryana. After this, the soldiers also gave a new life to 23 -year -old Lokendra, who lives in Amroha in Uttar Pradesh. Both these kanwadis were trapped in the deep water and strong current of the Ganges. SDRF’s brave head constables Aashiq Ali, Constable Prakash Mehta and Nitesh Khetwal immediately took action and took out both of them safely.

SDRF teams are on duty day and night at the Ganges Ghats in 2025 Kavad Fair. His vigilance and the ability to take action immediately have given new life to many kanvadis. Local people and Kanwadi are praising this bravery of SDRF. SDRF has appealed to take precautions while bathing in Kavadi Ganga and follow the instructions of the security personnel present at the ghats.
