Sitapur News: A painful road accident occurred near Bholaganj Tirahe in Kotwali Biswan area, in which a pickup filled with kanwadis fell uncontrollably into the roadside ditch. This vehicle was going towards Chalari Ghat with the devotees, then suddenly the driver’s control was removed and the pickup crashed.
In this accident, 14 kanwadis aboard the pickup were seriously injured. After the information was given by the passers -by, the outpost in -charge Mahesh Gangwar along with his police team immediately reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. The injured were rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) Biswan through 108 ambulances without delay.
The team of doctors at CHC assessed the condition of the injured. After investigation, the condition of eight kawandis was found to be critical, who was immediately referred to the district hospital Sitapur for better treatment. At the same time, six other injured were sent home after first aid. This incident has once again raised questions on security arrangements during the Kandar Yatra. The case is being investigated by the regional administration and the driver is also being questioned. Eyewitnesses say that the speed of the pickup was fast, which is feared to have deteriorated the balance. The police have started further legal proceedings by taking the vehicle in their possession. Local people have demanded the administration to check vehicles and increase security arrangements during the Kavad Yatra.
