New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has designed a special drone, named Cats Warrior, it is a pilot without pilot. According to sources, it is soon ready for its first low-speed taxi trial. The CATS Warrior has been made in such a way that it can attack the enemy with fighter jets. It will be the trusted companion of the air in the air, ie Loyal Wingman. This drone itself will be able to gather enemy information, monitor and do a strike mission.
This drone was first shown in Aero India 2025 (Aero India) this year. It is expected that it will also take its first flight by the end of 2025. This project is also working with HAL along with Nucleus Research and Technologies. Big countries of the world like America, China and Russia are also making similar drones. Now India is also moving rapidly towards making its Air Force more powerful with this technology.
This is an unmanned fighter drone, it does not sit in it, it can complete the mission with remote or itself. Loyal Wingman will be flown with fighter jet, so that it can support the pilot aircraft, such as dodging the enemy’s radar or attacking in advance. Swarm technology in which many such drones can fly in herds simultaneously, and stray the enemy’s system. This can both do both spy (ISR), monitoring and accurate bombing. Its stealth design is so that it will not be caught early on the enemy’s radar. According to preliminary information, its operation range can be up to 700800 km, although the final figures will be decided after the trial, as its range will be further increased.
You can launch it from the airbase, and it can complete the mission by going inside the enemy’s area. Its range will depend on which missile or bomb it will be equipped with. Cats Warrior is capable of carrying bombs or electronic warfare (EW) pods ranging from 100 to 150 pounds. This means that it can not only block the enemy’s radar system, but can also bomb the accurate target when needed.
This drone will have internal weapon bay, which will fit weapons like Smart Anti-Aerfield Weapon (SAAW) and Next Generation Close Combat Missile (NGCCM). This means that it will attack the enemy with weapons hidden inside, avoiding radar in the air. It will have light weight smart bombs and stand-off missiles. Which are also capable of killing target from 100200 km away. While staying away from the fighter jet, this drone can destroy the enemy’s target without getting closer. The CATS Warrior will be operated with modern fighter jets like Tejas LCA and Sukhoi SU-30 MKI of India. This technique will provide the ability to carry accurate and deep attacks on the enemy’s hideouts, without endangering the pilot’s life. It is being called the flying partner of India.
