Gonda news: Hindi Journalism Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm and enthusiasm at Chitragupta Inter College in Nagar Colonelganj on Friday 30 May 2025 under Gonda district of UP under the aegis of The Journalist Association. This day is a symbol of the beginning of Hindi journalism, when in 1826, Pandit Jugal Kishore Shukla published the first Hindi newspaper ‘Udant Martand’ from Kolkata. Journalists, litterateurs and dignitaries participated in the ceremony organized on the occasion.

The program was chaired by journalist Pawandev Singh and the District President of The Journalist Association Mahadev Prasad Maurya. The program started, fearless journalist and poet Lakhanlal Mishra, while presenting excellent poems on politics and village head and journalists, enthusiasts the journalists. The history, importance and challenges of Hindi journalism were discussed in the program. Speakers said that ‘Udant Martand’ played an important role in promoting public awareness and unity in the freedom struggle.

District President of The Journalist Association Mahadev Prasad Maurya said that journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy, which works to show a mirror to the society and reveal the truth. He called for promoting fair and fearless journalism. He said that social media and digital platforms have brought Hindi journalism to new heights, but there is a need to avoid fake news and sensational journalism. Senior journalists, congratulating and wishing Hindi Journalism Day and said that journalist is a true watchman of society.

Appeal to maintain the dignity of journalism

District President Mahadev Prasad Maurya and District Media in -charge Baijnath Awasthi appealed to the journalists to maintain their journalism dignity and encouraged them and said that all journalists should work united and do not discriminate among themselves. Said that all journalist partners should do journalism in fair and independent, the oppression of any journalist partner will not be tolerated and every effort will be made to get justice. If a journalist has any problem during coverage, then he will be united and given a befitting reply.

Along with this, journalists Pawandev Singh, Sudhir Pandey, Virendra Tiwari, Prabhat Tiwari and other speakers shared their views about the current media and said that journalism is a selfless social service, it should be done impartially rather than a business. He said that all journalists should work under the spirit of mutual cooperation by maintaining solidarity among themselves. The journalist works as a bridge between the administration and the public. Also assured that whatever cooperation we worthy are always ready for this.
