New Delhi . The Supreme Court said that at Dhabas and restaurants on Kanwad Yatra Routes on the Kavad Yatra routes said the order of the requirement of QR code (Order Making QR CODE MANDE MANDETORY) (will remove in force). The Supreme Court has currently refused to stay the order of the Uttar Pradesh government.
The Uttar Pradesh government has mandated the QR code, which was challenged in the Supreme Court, which has been mandated in the Supreme Court. A bench of Justice MM Sundresh and Justice NK Singh on Tuesday heard the petition challenging the government’s order. After the completion of the debate of both the parties, the Supreme Court gave its verdict and refused to stay the order.
Justice Sundaresh commented saying, “I am a secular thinking person. I personally have no problem with it, but it is a matter of completely personal choice. If a restaurant is completely vegetarian from the beginning, then there is no problem in it. But if they are changing their menu only for the Kandar Yatra, then there can be a problem there.”
Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared in the Supreme Court on behalf of the petitioners. He described the QR Code Rules as a profiling on religious grounds and an economic boycott of the Muslim community. He cited the previous decision in the Supreme Court. Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “Last year, the Supreme Court had stayed such a decision of the state government. In such a situation, the government should have taken permission from the court before this new order.”
The Supreme Court said in another comment, “There are many people who do not eat food where non -vegetarians are made. In such a situation, there should be some indication to know what is being served there. Religious sentiments should not be hurt, but at the same time no one’s livelihood is affected. We have to find a middle path.”
The Supreme Court said in its order, “We will only pass the order that all concerned hotel owners follow the order to display license and registration certificate as per statutic requirements. We clarify that we are not considering other disputed issues right now.”
Giving information about the decision of the Supreme Court, advocate Barun Sinha said, “The court refused to pass an order on Tuesday in the case of QR code. The court only ruled on the interim application filed by the Muslim side. The order is that they have to show the license and registration certificate.”
