Desk: The state government has decided to give a further edge to the tiger conservation strategy for the tiger roar in the forests of Rajasthan. On Friday, a third meeting of Rajasthan Tiger Conservation Foundation was held at Aranya Bhawan in Jaipur (Jaipur). In this important meeting chaired by Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma, five Tiger Reserve- Ranthambore, Sariska, Mukundara, Ramgarh Venodhari and the proposed Dholpur Reserve- the latest status, challenges and future plans were discussed in detail.
It was decided in the meeting that CCTV cameras, drones and e-patrol systems would be made more effective for monitoring and safety of tigers. Through this, not only the movement of tigers will be monitored, but it will also help in the prevention of human-wildlife conflict. The Forest Minister instructed the officials to also make local communities aware, so that they follow the rules and become partners in protection.
Instructions were also given to improve cleanliness, basic facilities and digital booking for tourists coming to Tiger Reserve. Under the e-governance, there was talk of making the website of the forest department fast and useful. Along with this, it was decided to start a free forest tour program for the meritorious students of the state so that both interest and responsibility towards the environment would develop in them.
The forest department said that the incidents of struggle are decreasing due to measures like fencing, boom in compensation distribution and dialogue with villagers. Life insurance scheme is also being run for forest workers and local people. In the meeting, Anil Aggarwal Foundation also approved the MoU to set up a patrolling vehicle and anti-patching camp worth Rs 1 crore for the Ramgarh poisonous tiger reserve. This personal participation can prove to be a major contribution in the state’s tiger conservation.
