Muzaffarnagar news: Muzaffarnagar: The holy month of Sawan month has started from July 11 and with this, crores of Shiva devotees who carry Ganga water from Haridwar are departing towards various states via Muzaffarnagar. During this time, the district has been kept on high alert to prevent any untoward incident.

In view of the sensitivity of Muzaffarnagar district, 35 ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) personnel have been deployed. Along with this, bomb disposal squad, RAF and heavy police force have also been deployed on Kawad routes.

Flag march reviewed security arrangements

ATS, RAF, bomb squad and police team led by SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma conducted a flag march. He said that route marches were carried out in sensitive areas with Shiv Chowk, Meenakshi Chowk and other mixed population.

“Complete preparations have been made to ensure the safety of devotees coming from Haridwar and the success of the journey,” the SSP said. He said that drones, CCTV cameras and social media monitoring are being monitored.

Tight eye on mischievous elements

He clarified that strict action would be taken against those who try to disturb the peace. “Anyone who spreads anarchy, strict action is fixed on it.” The SSP has appealed to the general public to cooperate with the police administration and avoid spreading rumors on social media.
