Lucknow News: In the capital Lucknow, traders have vigorously raised their voice in protest against the proposed increase in electricity rates. The traders met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence and submitted a memorandum to him. During this time, the traders appealed to the government to take immediate steps on six major demands. The delegation included State President Ashok Motiani, General Ministers Anil Bajaj, Ratna Meghani, Prabhu Jalan, Shyam Krishamanani, Puneet Lalchandani, Sushil Gurnani and Sanjay Jaswani. Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal was also present with traders at the time of the meeting.

Strict objection raised on the proposed increase in electricity rates

During this time, the traders said that according to media reports, the proposal to increase the price of electricity is pending with the government, which is currently completely unfair. The traders clearly stated that such an increase will cause huge resentment in the business world. At present, when the state stands at the mouth of elections and the business is already facing recession, any kind of increase in electricity rates will become an additional burden on traders. The traders also demanded that the electric wires spread in the markets be removed soon.

Demand for repair of roads of Aminabad and Pratap Market

The traders demanded repair of dilapidated roads in crowded markets like Aminabad and Pratap Market in Lucknow. He said that both customers and traders have to face a lot of trouble due to broken roads. In this direction, the Municipal Corporation should take quick action so that business activities can be operated smoothly.

Demand for formation of merchant welfare board

On meeting the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, the traders demanded that the merchant welfare board should be formed at the earliest so that the problems of the traders can reach the government directly through an institution. He especially emphasized that only honest business representatives should be included in this board, not political faces.

Demand for relief on shop-settlement, government’s recent decision welcome

At the same time, the merchant organizations welcomed the decision by the state government to make shops in houses and also demanded that the markets where the basements are already built in the shops, should also be regularized. This will provide great relief to the traders.

Questions raised on online business, traffic and parking

Traders said that due to online business, customers are constantly getting away from markets. Along with this, traffic jams and parking problems are at its peak in the markets, so that customers do not turn to the markets. Business leaders suggested that traffic and parking system should be repaired in major markets so that customers can be attracted to the markets again.

Demand to simplify GST

During this time, business leaders also said that the GST system should be made simple and practical so that small traders can get relief and get rid of unnecessary problems.

On this occasion, the traders urged Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to immediately pay attention to all these demands and take appropriate steps, so that both business and market can get life. After handing over the memorandum, the traders strongly welcomed Rajnath Singh and expressed gratitude.
