Meerut News: Before the Sawan Kavad Yatra, the Meerut Police has achieved great success in two encounters. In the early hours of Wednesday, there was a tremendous face-to-face between the police and the miscreants in Daurala and Pallavapuram police station areas. Both the crooks were injured in the firing and the police caught them. A reward of 25 thousand rupees was declared on a crook.

According to City Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh, the first encounter took place near the Kali River Bridge on Lavar Road in Daurala area. During the checking, an attempt was made to stop a suspected bike, then two youths riding on it started running. On chase, the bike slipped and a miscreant opened fire on the police. In retaliation, Akash Pal alias Babu Buxar was injured by a bullet. A.32 bore indigenous pistol, cartridge and a numberless bike were recovered from him. Akashkha hails from Bhavanpur and has many serious cases registered. Recently, the robbery of 6 thousand was wanted, on which the SSP had declared a reward of 25 thousand.

The second encounter took place near village Dulhera in Pallavapuram area, where Akashk’s partner Suhail alias Munshi was hidden. When the police laid siege, he also opened fire. In response, he was also caught by being injured by a police bullet. Pistols, cartridges and ₹ 20,000 cash were recovered from him.

Both have been sent to the hospital for treatment. Police said that this action is the result of a joint campaign of Daurala, Pallavapuram and SWAT team. Investigation has been started by registering a case against the accused under strict sections.
