Lucknow today news: The cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday approved the establishment of a semiconductor unit in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. So at the same time, the double engine government, which is transforcing Uttar Pradesh as an advanced state, has taken a milestone towards creating an economy of a trillion dollar in the state. The project has been approved by the government of double engine as a sixth unit under the Semiconductor Mission in the country.
Under this project, the unit will be set up with an investment of Rs 3700 crore as a joint venture of two veteran technology companies near Jewar Airport in Greater Noida. This semiconductor sector will prove to be a big step towards setting up Uttar Pradesh as a super hub. On this decision of the Modi cabinet, the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media platform Ax and called the decision a historic step in the direction of self -reliant India.
Semiconductor unit will be established in Yida
The Modi cabinet approved the establishment of a semiconductor unit in Greater Noida in UP under the India Semiconductor Mission. It will be near Noida International Airport (NIA), which is going to operate soon in Jewar. This new unit will be established in the authorized area of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA), which will be established as a joint venture, two global legendary technology companies.
Display driver chips will be constructed
This plant will manufacture display driver chips, which is used in mobile phones, laptops, automobiles, personal computers and many other devices. The capacity of the plant will be based on the design capacity of 20,000 wafers per month and 36 million units of production. It will be established with an investment of Rs 3,700 crore.
